Exploring the city of Leon

On our third day here we were able to do some sight seeing around the city. Right next to our hotel was the huge el Futbol stadium of the Leon Lions & we were lucky enough to find a man to take us to the roof of the building that over looked the stadium.
This was the biggest stadium I've ever seen! It holds 45,000 people!

All of us on the rooftop overlooking the stadium.

We came across one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. We weren't able to go inside, but the exterior was unreal!

When we were driving on our tour bus we spotted this graffiti wall that went for about a mile down the road & immediately asked our tour guide about it....
He told us that behind this wall was a cemetery & the murals/graffiti were done by people that had a loved one pass away. The cemetery was open & we decided to go inside & check it out. I was expecting a normal looking cemetery & I was surprised when we went through the gates.
The cemetery was filled with people visiting loved ones graves & there was even a funeral going on when we went in.

These walls of graves were located in the entrance of the cemetery

When we turned the corner I saw some of the most amazing grave sites I've ever seen. In the Mexican culture they start out with a simple gravestone & every year they add on to it to turn into these amazing memorials for their loved ones. Some of them looked like mini temple structures.

The City of Leon had many beautiful sites to see!
